SHERRIE "VOXXY" JOHNSON

Visual Artist, Singer, Songwriter, Performer

Based in Tacoma, WA

Voxx Arts IS Sherrie "Voxxy" Johnson. Sherrie is an artist and performer that takes a multi-disciplinary approach to creating art. From paintings and creating art in mixed media and digital artworks, to writing and performing in musical productions, and even jewelry design, there is not much artistic expression that Sherrie hasn't explored. Whether it be logo and t-shirt designs to full canvas paintings, digital art, fine art prints, event posters, or full audio stage performances and productions. Chances are, Sherrie can create something to inspire you in one way or another.

Her most current art is inspired by the patterns that seem to echo throughout everything: galaxies and flowers, roots and rivers, spirals and stars.

Drawing from sacred geometry, nature, and ancient symbolism, her work explores the possibility that the universe may be far more interconnected than we realize.

Using vibrant color, intricate forms, and a healthy fascination with life’s mysteries, she creates pieces that invite curiosity, contemplation, and occasional wonder-filled detours. Her art offers viewers a chance to pause, explore, and see familiar things through a slightly enchanted lens.

Sherrie was a founding member and participant of Tacoma's Speakeasy Art Cooperative that was voted a top 5 Art Gallery in Seattle's King 5 Evening Magazine Best In Western Washington, and readers choice for Best Art Parties in Tacoma's Weekly Volcano in 2009/10.

She was co-host on the award winning "The Northwest Convergence Zone" podcast from 2010-2015 which featured weekly interviews with local artists, musicians, and community members.

In 2014 Sherrie created the very popular Janis Joplin Tribute Band and musical production called "Janis Lives" that performed internationally for 10 years until it was retired in 2024.
